Waders, wellies and gloves should be hung on racks in such a way that they can dry off after use, and so that they can be easily paired and counted. If possible, put the racks in the driest and/or draughtiest position in the toolstore, to reduce the chance of mould forming. Use fungicidal spray in wellies and waders to prevent the spread of foot diseases and promote hygiene.

Well-designed racks do take up a lot of space. Contain the problem by being ruthless about throwing out worn and leaky items, and only keep what you really need.

General purpose gloves are often of one size and type, so need not be kept in their original pairs, as long as a right and left can be quickly found. One idea is to hang all the ‘rights’ together on one rack, and all the ‘lefts’ together on another.

Helmets should be hung on pegs of wooden dowel or similar. Position them out of direct sunlight, as this degrades the plastic. Check regularly for damage.
