These tools can be difficult to store, having long hafts, but no T or D handle with which to hang them. The rack shown has a wooden base to keep tools out of contact with the floor, to reduce the likelihood of rot or rust.

A rack for longer tools

Another method of storage is to drill holes through the end of the tool handles, carefully smoothing the edges afterwards. A rack made from a plank of wood with 150mm (6”) nails driven through can then be attached to the wall, and the tools hung from the nails.

Slashers can also be stored in this manner.
