Normally these are provided by the client, but some groups may have stores of various materials.
Joist hangers are a useful way of storing long pieces of timber. Space hangers at approximately one metre intervals. Store other long timbers on the floor on wooden chocks, to keep the timber out of contact with the floor. Avoid leaning long timbers against a wall, as this is dangerous, and can cause the timber to warp.
If possible, avoid storing any loose material such as sand or gravel. These are heavy, bulky and should be handled and transported the minimum amount neccessary. Cement deteriorates within a few weeks in storage, even unopened, so always buy fresh as you need it.
