We’ve found that children love making these fun bird-feeders and they keep the birds coming back for more!
What you will need
A stick (approx 30cm long, minimum 3cm diameter), bird fat mix and seeds, string, drill.
What to do
- Ask an adult to drill holes through the stick (best done with a flat wood drill bit), and a small hole at the top where the string will go to hang the feeder.
- Fill the holes with the fat and seed mix, this is the messy bit and best done over a bucket or bowl to catch the loose bits. Cram as much stuff into the holes as you can.
- Hang the feeder in the tree and watch the birds enjoy their dinner.
- When the feeder is empty, refill.
